Groups & Committees
In October 2015, we
installed a 12.96 kW array of solar panels on two roofs of the church
building. We expect the energy generated from this grid-tied system to
produce 25 to 30% of our church's electrical power each year, and will
continue to do so well into the future.
In all, we expect to save more than 58,000 pounds (26,308 kilograms) of
carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, the equivalent of taking 5
gas guzzlers (or 12
Priuses) off the road or planting 87 mature trees every year, as well
as saving the congregation several thousand dollars each year in
We hope this example of energy stewardship will inspire households,
congregations, and business around us to consider turing their rooftops
into power stations like ours.
